Extensions are not one size fits all.

The right method depends on your hair type, how you wear it, and how much upkeep you actually want. Fine hair needs a different approach than thick hair. Someone in a ponytail five days a week needs a different placement than someone who never ties it up.

That is what the consultation is for. We look at your hair, talk through what you are after, and tell you honestly which method fits, what it will take to maintain, and what it will cost. If extensions are not right for your hair right now, we will tell you that too.

Three methods

Hand-tied, tape-in, k-tip

Each suits a different hair type and a different amount of maintenance. Your consultation settles which one, but here is the short version.

Most popular

01

Hand-tied wefts

Lightweight wefts sewn onto a beaded row. The flat, thin construction adds real volume without bulk, which is why it is the go-to for fine hair. Moves like your own hair from the first day.

Move-up
8 to 10 weeks
Install
2 to 4 hours
Best for
Fine to medium

02

Tape-ins

Ultra-thin wefts bonded with medical-grade adhesive. They sit flat, install fast and are the lightest commitment of the three, which makes them a good first extension for most hair types.

Move-up
6 to 8 weeks
Install
1 to 2 hours
Best for
All hair types

03

K-tips

Keratin-bonded strands applied individually rather than in rows. Because they are placed one at a time they follow your own hair closely, which suits layered cuts and anyone who wears their hair up often.

Wear time
3 to 4 months
Install
2 to 4 hours
Best for
Layers, ponytails

The hair itself

We do not just install extensions.
We source them.

Two of our stylists founded Elevn, a hand-tied weft line built because they could not find hair that held up the way they wanted it to. That line is stocked here, in the salon, alongside other lines our stylists have vetted themselves.

Two things follow from that. Your hair is chosen for your colour and texture rather than for whatever the salon happens to carry. And because it is already in the building, you are usually not waiting weeks for an order to ship before you can sit in the chair.

What to expect

How it goes

1

Free consultation

We look at your hair, talk through your goals and how much upkeep you want, then match color and method. You leave knowing the plan and the price.

2

Installation

Your stylist installs the rows or strands, then cuts and blends everything into your natural hair. This is the appointment where it stops looking like extensions.

3

Move-ups

As your hair grows the rows need moving back up. We book those before you leave and show you how to wash, brush and sleep in them so the hair lasts.

What it costs

Priced after we see your hair.

$500 to $2,000Most installs, hair included

Where you land depends on how much hair you need, the length you are after and the method. A first install costs more than the move-ups that follow, because you are buying the hair as well as the appointment.

We quote you at the consultation, before you commit to anything. No deposit is taken until you have a number in front of you.

Questions we get every week

Will extensions damage my natural hair?

Not when they are installed and maintained properly. Damage usually comes from rows left in too long, hair that was too heavy for the head it was put on, or removal done badly. We size the install to what your hair can carry, and if your hair is not in shape for extensions right now we will say so at the consultation rather than take the booking.

Do extensions work on fine or thin hair?

Fine hair is where hand-tied wefts do their best work. The wefts are flat and light, so they add volume without pulling. Placement matters more than usual on fine hair, which is another reason the consultation is not a formality.

How long do they last?

The install needs maintenance on a cycle: roughly every 6 to 8 weeks for tape-ins and 8 to 10 weeks for hand-tied wefts, because your own hair grows and the rows move down with it. The hair itself, cared for properly, often lasts a year or more and gets reused through several move-ups.

Can I color and heat-style them?

Yes. It is 100% Remy human hair, so it curls, straightens and blow-dries like your own. Color is possible but should be done by your stylist, since extension hair processes differently than hair growing out of your head. Ask before you put anything on it.

How much upkeep is this really?

More than no extensions, less than people fear. A move-up appointment every couple of months, a gentler brush, sulphate-free shampoo, and hair tied loosely at night. If that sounds like more than you want, tape-ins or k-tips may fit better than a full head of wefts, and we will talk that through honestly.

How do I get started?

Book a free consultation, which takes about half an hour and covers method, color match and price. If you would rather ask first, text 208.900.6688 with a photo of your hair and one of the length you want, and we will tell you what is realistic.
