Will extensions damage my natural hair?
Not when they are installed and maintained properly. Damage usually comes from
rows left in too long, hair that was too heavy for the head it was put on, or
removal done badly. We size the install to what your hair can carry, and if your
hair is not in shape for extensions right now we will say so at the consultation
rather than take the booking.
Do extensions work on fine or thin hair?
Fine hair is where hand-tied wefts do their best work. The wefts are flat and
light, so they add volume without pulling. Placement matters more than usual on
fine hair, which is another reason the consultation is not a formality.
How long do they last?
The install needs maintenance on a cycle: roughly every 6 to 8 weeks for tape-ins
and 8 to 10 weeks for hand-tied wefts, because your own hair grows and the rows
move down with it. The hair itself, cared for properly, often lasts a year or
more and gets reused through several move-ups.
Can I color and heat-style them?
Yes. It is 100% Remy human hair, so it curls, straightens and blow-dries like
your own. Color is possible but should be done by your stylist, since extension
hair processes differently than hair growing out of your head. Ask before you
put anything on it.
How much upkeep is this really?
More than no extensions, less than people fear. A move-up appointment every couple
of months, a gentler brush, sulphate-free shampoo, and hair tied loosely at night.
If that sounds like more than you want, tape-ins or k-tips may fit better than a
full head of wefts, and we will talk that through honestly.
How do I get started?
Book a free consultation, which takes about half an hour and covers method, color
match and price. If you would rather ask first, text 208.900.6688 with a photo of
your hair and one of the length you want, and we will tell you what is realistic.
